Description
Lico-Rice is a liquid tincture of licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra), one of the oldest recorded herbal medicines, used from ancient Egypt to modern European practice. It is traditionally used to soothe and protect the lining of the digestive tract and ease indigestion and stomach discomfort, and herbalists have also used it to support people who tend towards low blood pressure. It is standardised to a 1:3 strength with 60% alcohol and has licorice’s naturally sweet, earthy taste. Licorice is a strong herb meant for short courses of no more than 4 to 6 weeks. Do not use if you have high blood pressure, heart or kidney disease, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
